On January 13, 2017, press reports stated that ArcLight Capital had sold a minority stake to Goldman Sachs’ Petershill II, LP investment vehicle, Wafra Investment Advisory Group, Inc. and a family office.
The seller, ArcLight Capital (“ArcLight”), is a private equity firm focused on energy infrastructure investments. Since its founding in 2001, ArcLight has invested approximately $17 billion in energy projects. ArcLight Capital is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
Petershill II, LP, is an alternative capital vehicle of Goldman Sachs Asset Management International Ltd. Wafra Investment Advisory Group, Inc. (“Wafra”) is beneficially owned by the Public Institution for Social Security or Kuwait. Wafra, together with its affiliates, oversees over $15 billion of capital and assets under management. Wafra’s principal office is in New York.
