On July 16, 2013, Investcorp and Kortright Capital Partners announced that Kortright, a New York-based investment manager, will join Investcorp’s Single Manager Platform. Investcorp’s seed investment in Kortright was not disclosed, but Investcorp historically provides from $50 to $100 million in seed capital.
On January 22, 2013, structured fixed income asset management firm Continuum Investment Management announced a strategic partnership with Grosvenor Capital Management under which Continuum will receive an $85 million seed investment.
On January 9, 2013, hindustantimes.com reported that global development institution IFC had proposed an equity investment of up to $25 million in the India 2020 Fund II to provide capital and strategic assistance to small and medium size enterprises.
On March 12, 2012, France Télécom-Orange and Publicis Group announced that they will partner with Iris Capital Management to seed a €300 million venture capital fund, OP Ventures Growth, targeting the European digital economy.
On February 14, 2012 CI Financial announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire a minority interest in Lawrence Park Capital Partners and that CI Financial will also invest in its inaugural fund, to be launched in March 2012.
On November 30, 2011, the Wall Street Journal reported that Goldman Sachs Group Inc. had raised approximately $600 million from its clients to provide startup funds to between eight and ten new hedge funds.
